Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, assessing physical capabilities, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique condition and recovery goals.
- Implement evidence-based rehabilitation techniques, including therapeutic exercises and manual therapy, to improve patient outcomes.
- Educate patients about their conditions and provide guidance on exercises, techniques, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, occupational therapists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated care.
- Manage a daily patient caseload of approximately seven patients, maintaining high-quality care and attention to each individual.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will focus primarily on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions that affect their movement and functionality. You will work with a diverse group of individuals, from athletes recovering from sports injuries to elderly patients rehabilitating post-surgery. Your expertise will be critical in guiding them through their recovery journey, helping them regain independence and improve their overall physical health.
Qualifications
- Must be a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of New York.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
- Strong understanding of orthopedic conditions and rehabilitation practices.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing rehabilitation tools and methodologies specific to orthopedic care.
- Experience in patient education and developing tailored exercise programs.
Compensation and Benefits
