Focus Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our onsite rehabilitation team located in Huntington, New York. Work Environment

This position is based in an onsite rehabilitation facility, fostering an engaging and interactive work environment. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to create a well-rounded approach to patient care. Our working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some flexibility needed to accommodate patient schedules and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their rehabilitation goals.
• Guide patients through specialized therapeutic exercises, stretches, and functional activities aimed at improving mobility and alleviating pain.
• Educate patients on recovery techniques, including proper body mechanics and home exercise programs that support their rehabilitation journey.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and cryotherapy, as dictated by patient needs and evidence-based practices.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking metrics such as range of motion, strength gains, and overall improvements in functionality.
• Maintain a well-organized treatment environment by preparing areas and ensuring necessary equipment is available for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and effective patient care, contributing to holistic rehabilitation outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, fostering a nurturing and motivating atmosphere throughout their treatment process.
• Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in all interactions, ensuring patient confidentiality and autonomy are respected.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient demographic is diverse, spanning various age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics. You will work with individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions, all requiring tailored intervention strategies. Understanding the unique needs of each patient is essential to devise effective rehabilitation plans that foster recovery and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a rehabilitation facility.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in diverse rehabilitation settings, including orthopedic and neurologic rehab.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for effective documentation and patient tracking.
• Previous roles that involved multidisciplinary team collaboration will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
